Conditions for the provision of service by Compu-Wizard

1. Compu-Wizard (we) will always use our best efforts to service your computer equipment. However, as computer parts age during usage, disconnecting components for repair and/or upgrade can cause components to fail.  The customer accepts that in the unlikely event of a component failing during service activity, we will not be liable for an damage, including loss of data, howsoever caused, nor for any consequent losses, including those caused directly or indirectly due to loss of data and/or function of a computer or computer accessory in our care for analysis, repair or upgrade work.  Additionally, we are not responsible for problems caused by faulty or incompatible hardware, software, device drivers or power supplies, which may incur additional work and charges, though the customer will be advised before this additional work commences.  It is the customers responsibility to back up all data.  Compu-Wizard is NOT responsible for loss of any data that may occurr during servicing.


2. Hourly charges include travel to customer location from last call, or our workshop base location, whichever is closer. Currently we only charge a NOMINAL TRIP CHARGE of $10 to clients due to the increased cost of travel.  Higher Trip Charges may be necessary for those clients outside a 30 mile radius. Collection and delivery time is also chargeable for workshop serviced PCs, where we are requested to provide a collect and return service.  Hourly charges also include any time incurred when PC systems are unavailable for service, e.g. waiting time. Tolls, parking fees and other expenses are not included, and are additional to hourly service charges and any parts required.  We will supply any required parts on request, or the customer may supply equivalent and acceptable parts, and we will install them, on request, as preferred.  Where we are requested to order parts to assist with the diagnosis of a fault these parts will be chargeable to the customer irrespective of the actual part that is failing.


3. Where we are requested to manage warranty issues, actual time taken (including travel) is chargeable at the above rate.  Incidental costs, such as internet, telephone calls, postage and packing etc. are additional. Once work has commenced, minimum charges apply and the customer accepts these terms by requesting service.  All parts remain our property until paid for in full.


4. Where PCs are accepted for service in our workshops, they will be stored for safe keeping for one week after the customer has been advised that the system(s) are ready for collection.  Systems that remain uncollected after one week will be stored for one further calendar month, for a charge, and then disposed of.  We are not responsible for any additional disks and CDs that remain in drives that have not been accounted for.  Only original licensed software which is the property of the customer will be re-installed.

CHARGES

Contact us directly for pricing.  Minimum charge is 1 hour onsite.  Payment due on completion of work, or by arrangement within 15 calendar days.

Our normal no-charge support line is available to all Compu-Wizard customers, 8 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday.  Weekend support is available for an additional fee.  Due to the high cost of maintaining our exceptional customer service, nominal costs will be charged to customers for support calls exceeding 15 minutes billed in 15 minute increments.

Our back to base support service is based on the system being returned to our location for warranty repair.  On site support is normally next business day, but if you have an urgent problem, please call us, we will do what we can to assist you  as soon as possible.


We reserve the right to add a 5% late payment charges (which may include reasonable third party agency charges) for payments that are overdue beyond one month.  A $40 return check handling fee will be assessed if payment/check is returned to us.
